Queen Latifah is a Great Client

No, Queen Latifah unfortunately is not my client. But I recently picked up her book, Put On Your Crown: Life-Changing Moments on the way to Queendom, published a few years ago, and really appreciated her honesty, transparency, and frankness in teaching young women the important lessons she’s learned in becoming not only a celebrity but a smart businesswoman.
I say Queen Latifah is a great client because she describes in detail her weakness of overextending herself. She was running around with her record album business and saying yes to everyone and finally brokedown after a while and found herself sitting by her brother’s grave to finally have some peace and quiet by herself. And whose fault was all that? She realized because she couldn’t say No and set boundaries for herself she was run to the ground. No one could say NO for her.
It’s a great reminder that even celebrities are human! We all need some help sometimes. It’s not a show of weakness, but that we are serious about moving forward and improving how we do LIFE.
