From St. John of the Cross’s poem “La Noche Oscura,” the Dark Night of the Soul is an internal spiritual journey of the soul letting go of the ego through 5 stages of grief, yet often prompted without a perceived external loss.
Shadow Work
Inspired by Carl Gustav Jung’s 3 ego states of the self {ego, shadow, anima (feminine)/animus (masculine)}, the shadow is our repressed parts, externally projected on our 5 closest people, and shows up as our internal Gang of 5 or Party of 5.
